Rev. Ronald A. Potts has been pastor of Sacred Heart, La Plata since October of 2007.
Rev Jaroslaw Gamrot, Associate Pastor
Father Jaroslaw Gamrot, 42, native of Poland, was ordained in 1991 in Warsaw, Poland. He has a graduate degree in Philosophy and Theology from The Catholic University in Lublin, Poland. He studied in Rome as a postgraduate student of a multicultural program at the Marian House of Studies. In 1995 he migrated to the U.S.A. and studied Psychology and Painting at The Catholic University of America. In 1999 he began to work as a full-time chaplain at St. Joseph’s Nursing Home in Catonsville, MD, the Archdiocese of Baltimore. For four years he was a chaplain to the American Province of Sisters Servants of Immaculate Mary. He served as the Assistant Secretary to The General Chapter of The Congregation of Marians in Rome. Since 2003, Fr. Gamrot worked in the Archdiocese of Washington residing at St. Matthias, Lanham, MD. As of June 16, 2006, Fr. Gamrot is appointed a Parochial Vicar at Sacred Heart, La Plata, MD. He is active as a spiritual director and a retreat and pilgrimage leader for laity and religious. Adopting his education in art he offers retreats using his artworks to facilitate a spiritual communication and discernment. He is a translator and a contributing writer on spirituality to Marian Helpers Bulletin and Messenger of the Divine Mercy.
